Here is a rough mixed underscore demo cue idea for the opening action of the pilot teaser. It loosely follows script pages 1 & 2. As discussed in our zoom meeting, it features character driven elements:

• Acoustic instruments (solo strings, percussion, and guitars) with dark, gritty effects processing being added to and subtracted from, help create tension and a vibe.

• The strings play repetitive minimalistic patterns that enhance the tension.

• Dark synth textures are also used for the assailants.

• Rock guitar plays a fragmented SWAT theme representing Hondo and the old guard.

• Nylon Guitalele plays the SWAT theme, representing young Nico Ramirez as he bleeds out and dies.

This demo has 4 distinct sections that follow the four sections of the opening action. Here are the rough timings (in seconds):

Music sneaks in under DISPATCH (O.S.) dialog, through the operators’ calls of “Officer down!”, “We’re taking fire!”, “— where the hell’s our perimeter ?!?”

1. EXT. RESIDENTIAL RAID LOCATION - NIGHT

SWAT raid going bad, run by grizzled old school SWAT OPERATORS.

HONDO

Key change and electric guitar playing fragmented SWAT theme for Hondo as he enters - Controlled. Deadly. Professional. Hondo takes care of business, then sees Nico Ramirez on the ground, bleeding. Hondo fires one last burst downrange. The shooters begin retreating.

1:48 - 2:30

NICO RAMIREZ

Hondo scrambles to Nico. Blood’s everywhere. Guitalele plays an emotional version of the SWAT theme as Hondo tries to save Nico, but ultimately can’t. The final note hits as Nico fades. The music fades as we FADE TO BLACK.
